Virgen Del Carmen Celebration in Javea

Javea is an exemplary location from Alicante. From the point of view of traditions and cultural identity, Javea is listed as a top competitor throughout Spain. Its costal position did not change its locals and their beliefs. Although Javea is a resort that attracts thousand of visitors every year, it is also a simple town, with amazing customs.

More or less religious, the inhabitants of this pointy costal town celebrate their saints in a strictly manner. In other words, they always celebrate every religious event, but they do it as an excuse for partying as well. Happy and smiling people that like to socialize, Javea’s residents attend the Virgen Del Carmen celebration annually, on July 16th.

The most impressive part of this celebration is the way it is celebrated. A close to midnight show that guarantees heavenly sensations represents the culminant point of the day. People gather on the beach and wait for the breathtaking show by socializing and sharing snacks. The show consists of two parts. During the first part, pyrotechnics specialists throw some exceptional fireworks into the sea. During the second part, the fireworks begin to self-trigger. After the first sign of colored light on the sky, everyone’s eyes are fixed on it. A large number of fireworks form different shapes and are colored differently release into the air for the delight of the watchers. Both juniors and seniors staying in the local Javea villa rentals enjoy this show and have a great time with the other participants as well.
