Centers of Interest in Javea

Javea is probably best known for its harbor and marina, which are considered the only Grade A facilities from the entire Costa Blanca. However, the old district from Javea holds significant evidence of past civilizations and hosts the most entertaining parties.

The Port of Javea still has a fishing fleet that brings fresh fish every day. The public sales are held in the fish market at the port. The marina comprises restaurants that cook the fresh fish in order to spoil every visitor’s taste buds. Balcon Del Puerto is the only restaurant that has a terrace from which you can overlook the sea. The stunning views go great with a delicious meal especially when the menu of the day is first class and cheap. There is also a dive center in the port that offers a wide range of berths for boat passionate people.

Among the attractions from Javea’s old district, the Church of St. Bartholomew is the most eye-catching edifice. Considering that it dates from the 12th century, the historical importance of this church is unimaginable. The Soler Blasco Museum comprises a lot of evidence of past civilizations.

When it comes to parties, Javea has one of the most unique events from Spain. In the first week of September, the Port of Javea is full of people that leave their Javea villas and make fun of bulls and try to fool them into throwing themselves in the sea.
