On July 2nd the locals from Javea celebrate a really important moment from their history. 400 years ago, in 1612, Javea was declared an independent city. Its main problems, the connection with Denia and the lack of status, were solved by the King Philip III and the monarch.
This year, the officials organize two celebration days, scheduled for June 30th and July 2nd. The San Bartolome church will host a concert that represents the debut of their special event. The Javea Conservatory Orchestra will perform in the show, which is viewed with extreme solemnity and interest by the locals.
The actual celebration day will start with an official ceremony and it will continue with another concert at the Campaners Guild. The concert will consist of harmoniously played bell sounds.
The independence day of Javea will also be celebrated in October. Its second set of events will include multiple cultural elements. Both visitors and locals can learn more about Javea’s history, only by attending the events dedicated to it.
The Soler Blasco Museum will host an exhibition that displays certain landscapes that have a historical meaning. You can find out what happened and when it happened and then you can go see their version from our times. Everything is schedules to start on October 9th.
Besides in-depth knowledge, you can benefit from this event by socializing with the locals. Especially the old persons can tell you different versions of the past. Javea is only agitated during its fiestas and celebrations. And after a day of the fiestas you may want a place to rest your weary head, that’s where the Javea Villas come into play.
